Our
History
Eurostyle Smallgoods was founded by two partners, Steve Hlevnjak and Daniel Bicanic. Built together on a shared vision: producing authentic, traditional European smallgoods of real quality. Steve's side of it starts in Koprivnica, Croatia, where he learned butchery and smallgoods-making as a young man at the Podravka factory, before making his life in Australia and starting out in the meat trade in 1975. Sharpening his craft alongside German and Swiss masters along the way. Daniel came up under him, starting his apprenticeship in 1992 aged just sixteen, at Steve's Smallgoods (pictured), learning the trade from the ground up. With a genuine passion for making authentic smallgoods and an unmatched work ethic, Daniel quickly became Steve's right-hand man, in time becoming his business partner at Cockburn Meats. In 2009 Steve's son Stiven came through the same way, apprentice to butcher in his own right. He brought a fresh vision with him: modernising production, bringing in new technology, and growing the Eurostyle name through branding and social media. Modern thinking in service of a traditional craft. Three sets of hands, one craft passed down: from Steve, to the apprentice who became his partner, to the son who grew up in it.
Our
Structure
Eurostyle is a family-owned fresh meat butcher and smallgoods producer. Steve's wife Sonja also sources hard-to-find European groceries from across the continent. We've worked from our purpose-built Bibra Lake premises since 2005. Our smallgoods supply delicatessens, restaurants and venues across Western Australia, while the shop offers the full range, fresh meats, roasts and smallgoods alike, to customers each week. Everything is made on-site in our A-grade, HACCP-approved premises, using the original recipes and methods of curing, drying and smoking, backed today by modern machinery. We start with the best local meat we can get and use only Australian pork, and our team of around 25, most with us more than five years, takes pride in the consistency that keeps customers coming back. That standard is recognized well beyond our own counter. Our ham and bacon have been named among the state's best more than once, and our wider range has earned national recognition too. Every award means the same to us: proof we're doing what we set out to, making honest, traditional products the way they should be.
