Our
History
Eurostyle Smallgoods was established in 2005 at its current location in Bibra Lake. Previously operating as Cockburn Meats in Munster, where it outgrew its location.
Co-founder Steve Hlevnjak started his journey in the meat industry at the Podravka factory in Koprivinica, Croatia. He moved to Australia in 1970, desiring a better life. He had modest beginnings as a young migrant who developed a passion for producing a variety of high quality European-style smallgoods. He learnt from German and Swiss masters of the trade and soon begun his own ventures.
In 1981 Steve built a store and factory in Beaconsfield. He later took on his now business partner Daniel Bicanic as an apprentice. Through his training Daniel learnt the art of smallgoods. Once Steve sold his business in Beaconsfield, Daniel pursued his own business dreams and eventuated in the Munster store (Cockburn Meats) where Steve later joined.
Steve’s son Stiven also entered the business upon completing his butchering apprenticeship and smallgoods training. He has been able to implement some modern technology to keep the business up with the times.
Eurostyle Smallgoods continues to grow and provides a range of their goods to delicatessens, restaurants and other venues all over Western Australia. Their retail outlet in Bibra Lake is also open from Tuesday-Saturday.
